The Sport Ireland Campus is providing state-of-the-art sports facilities to elite athletes in Ireland while offering valuable amenities to the local community.


The Campus boasts an impressive array of facilities including the National Aquatic Centre, Irish Institute of Sport- providing sports science and medical facilities, a National Modern Pentathlon Centre, Horse Sports Arena, the National Aquatic Centre, National Diving Centre, and outdoor synthetic playing pitches, complete with floodlights and pavilion. And there is more; the National Indoor Arena is now opened as of 2017.

National Indoor Arena Covered Pitches

The National Indoor Arena Covered Pitches are world-class training facilities comprising of a full-sized covered soccer pitch and a half size covered rugby pitch and multiple changing rooms.​

The pitches are also available for Coaching Training and Development, Team Training (Under Age/ Senior), Corporate, Social & Competitive Leagues, Matches, Referee Training, and other private bookings. 

National Indoor Arena

The Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena is the new flagship facility at the National Sports Campus. This fully accessible, multi-sport and multi-purpose arena, is the newest of its kind in Europe. Built to the highest world class standards and specifications, it will ensure that Ireland has the best facility for indoor sport and events, which can be used Irish sporting bodies, high performance athletes and the general public.

National Indoor Training Centre

The NITC is a large multi sport venue, which can be sub divided into 3 international size basketball courts. This hall has movable bleacher seats which can seat up to 1,200 people. The seats can be moved depending on the requirements of specific events. Courts can be hired as 1, 2 or 3 halls and will form the centrepoint of our Sports & Recreation Programmes.

· The configuration of the floor area is Multi-Sport with 1,500 retractable seats.
· Layouts can be adjusted to suit training / competition requirements up to international standards​

National Gymnastics Training Centre

An international standard bespoke Gymnastics Training Centre which will host our in house Gymnastic Academy, plus Gymnastics Ireland’s high performance unit. This centre will also be available for one off rentals for clubs and schools.

National Indoor Athletics Training Centre


An international quality indoor athletics arena which can also accommodate in field sports. The track is on hydraulics which can be raised or lowered, depending on the event being held. Outside of athletics, the venue can host a wide range of sporting and non sporting events, such as concerts, exhibitions, with capacity of 4,000.

· 200m- 6 lane competition hydraulic track running track
· 110m sprint track and jump pits x 5 lanes
· Throws area/Pole Vault
· 400 permanent seats (with additional 1,500 temporary seats)
· 4,000 seat for other sport events

National Aquatic Centre

In 2016 over 1 million people used the facilities of the Centre. It is, Ireland’s 4th most popular fee paying attraction. It houses Irelands biggest individual Swimming Lessons programme (over 2,300 participants weekly), has over 5,400 Members and has won numerous major Awards over the last 3 years.

Multi-Sport Pitches

A state-of-the-art Centre of All-Weather Synthetic Pitches catering for Soccer, Gaelic Games, Rugby and Hockey is now open to the public on a pay-for-play basis.


A brand new Pavilion with reception area, changing rooms, lockers and showers sits to the front of the new complex.  There is also free car parking beside the Pavilion

National Horse Sport Arena

The National Horse Sport Arena is a multi-use Olympic-standard Equestrian training facility.


Situated in the picturesque surrounds of the old walled garden of Abbotstown Hhowouse, the Arena is designed as a High Performance Training Centre for Showjumping, Dressage, Carriage Driving, Pony and Eventing.

Campus Conference Centre

The newest addition to the evolving National Sports Campus is the brand new Campus Conference Centre (CCC). This 2 story building comprises of a 100 seat Theatre style Conference Centre, a large adaptable Meeting Room that can cater for up to 50 people, plus a Catering and Reception display area, and lots of room for you to demonstrate or brand your goods. 


The ideal location for hosting your meetings and presentations in the lush surrounds of Irelands newest sports facilities. Located just off the M50, N2 and N3 it is within easy reach of Dublin & Leinster.

National Diving Training Centre

The concept of the National Diving Training centre evolved from the limited space that our divers had to utilise poolside at the International Competition Pool in the National Aquatic Centre.  With the development of the National Sports Campus it was decided to build a unique dryland training facility for Diving in Ireland


This facility is the largest of its type between Ireland and the  UK and will complement both high performance and recreational divers in their quest for that perfect score.  The Centre also has an open multi- purpose space area of 250m which can be used for gymnastics, warming up and has already hosted a major Table Tennis tournament.

Turf Pitches

The newly laid Turf Pitch complex is a multi-sport, multi use enclosed space. The pitch areas can be set up for a full sized Croke Park GAA pitch dimensions, 2 x Aviva size Soccer pitches, 1 x Aviva Size Rugby Pitch and adjusted for all field sports within the overall area.  One of the main customers using the pitches are the Irish American Football Team who have the full American Football set up including posts and pitch markings. This is an example of the adaptability of the complex. The private facility is ideal for a pre-season training camp, a mid season training camp or for hosting matches.

National Modern Pentathlon Centre

The National Modern Pentathlon Centre is a dual use facility which enables two of the Modern Pentathlon disciplines to be practised and performed under one roof. The Centre consists of a Fencing Arena and a Laser Shooting facility.


These 2 resources for pentathlon complement the facilities also on Campus for Running, Swimming and Horse Riding, thus making the Campus a unique centre of excellence in Europe featuring all 5 of the modern pentathlon sports in one location.

Cross Country Track & Trails

Sport Ireland National Cross Country Track

·         The Sport Ireland National Cross Country Track has been developed in consultation with Athletics Ireland.

·         It is the first permanent national cross country track for both training and competition purposes.

·         Athletics Irelands National Cross Country Championship will take place on 27th November 2016.

·         The main loop of the track measures 1,500 metres.

·         The track contains separate start and finish straights – each 200 metres long.

·         There are two additional loops of 500m and 700m to enable different course routes and distances through grassland and wooded areas.
