The National Aquatic Centre Wins National Q Mark Title


The National Aquatic Centre, Dublin has just been named as the Best Leisure Centre in Ireland for Quality Management Systems at this year’s National Q Mark Awards.


Hailed as “The Custodians of Business Excellence”, the Q Mark Awards are forever associated with Quality and Excellence in the minds of Irish consumers. It is the only system which allows businesses to monitor 100% of their processes and procedures 100% of the time. Winning this award has shown that The National Aquatic Centre truly cares about its customers and is willing to go the extra mile to ensure that it achieves the highest possible standards at all times.


The Tánaiste and Minister for Social Protection, Joan Burton TD, who attended the Awards, said “At the heart of our jobs plan is supporting Irish businesses providing products and services to the highest international standards and creating good, sustainable employment. It is impressive to see tonight, so many Irish businesses from all sectors and counties embedding quality standards as a key part of their offering to customers. These are the innovative Irish businesses that are powering the engine of our recovery, and I wish them every success in the future”.


The National Aquatic Centre, NAC, is a flagship business. It has catered for hundreds of national and international swimming, diving, water-polo and synchronised swimming competitions. The NAC is classed as a centre of excellence for their aquatics training and teaching programmes. The facility’s high performance, modern fitness centre compliments the extensive; family focused aquatic leisure facility and cater to both the general public and members of the facility.

David Conway CEO of the National Aquatic Centre said “Each functional Team at the National Aquatic Centre has been working really hard to build on our Q Mark success since 2014. We have come together and made significant efforts to improve upon our previous year’s performance. Winning the award in 2015 is a wonderful way to publicly and formally acknowledge the effort, dedication all the staff made especially the project leader Matthew Kennekick.”
